Five teams have contributed to turning this season's ECNZ Trophy bowls competition into a tight affair in the East zone, after each picked up three wins in the third round and gained maximum points.

Alexandra CB, Alexandra SL, Alexandra R, Millers Flat and RSA 5 all gained maximum points, while five other sides failed to register a point, recording no wins on the day.

Alexandra R and Alexandra CB are separated by just a point at the top of the standings on 16 and 15 respectively, with RSA 5 a point behind in third.

The Wanaka progressive tournament is also a tight affair, with Norman Matheson, Fred Anderson and Robyn Chartres leading their respective disciplines.
