Cleeve with strong hand in feature

Garry Cleeve could be the trainer to follow in the New Zealand Racing Series middle distance final at Forbury Park today.

The Rangiora owner-trainer goes into today's $11,000 545m feature with three of the form runners in the eight-dog field.

Know Class (box 4) sizzled around the Forbury Park track on May 14 in 32.01 in his heat, and has collected two wins from six goes in the blue rug. The October 2010-whelped dog has impeccable form at Forbury Park, having won twice and placed on his two other visits to the Dunedin track.

Cleeve also lines up Know Which (box 7), who carved out her heat win in 32.56. The bitch by Scotexcited is still in impressive form at c5 level despite clocking up 120 starts. She has won three of her past five starts, and been placed in the other two. She does not mind the wider draw, with four of her 24 wins coming from 20 attempts from box 7.

Cleeve also has Know Attempt (box 8) in the final, but he is yet to earn the first prize ribbon from any box wider than five.

Track specialist Finn McMissile will be looking to make it five wins from nine attempts on the Forbury Park track when he jumps from box 3.

His box starts are barely inferior, recording three wins from eight starts in the white rug, while heat winner Homebush Chopper (box 1) led all the way in his May 14 heat to win in 32.18 and has the benefit of the same box draw.
