The TAB has installed Mufhasa as a $2.50 favourite in final field betting for the $220,000 Mudgway Stakes at Hastings on Saturday.

Mufhasa was at $2.40 when the fixed-dividend book closed on Tuesday after a $20,000 bet was placed at $2.50.

Pindy was a late entry at a fee of $1200.

Michael Walker has retained the mount on Fritzy Boy in the Mudgway Stakes. Walker rode Fritzy Boy to a fresh-up win over 1200m at Foxton on August 7.

Fritzy Boy won the Mudgway last year in the hands of Noel Harris.

Sarrera is the top-rated horse in the Mudgway.

The Mike and Paul Moroney-trained Quest Of Fame 9yr-old has done all his racing in Australia, winning eight races, including the Doomben Cup (2020m) and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick last year.

He has raced 37 times.

He has not raced since finishing second to Pompeii Ruler in the QEII Stakes in April.

Jacowils will wear blinkers on Saturday.

Nom Du Jeu has been withdrawn from the $220,000 Windsor Park Plate on September 19 and the $1.2 million Kelt Stakes on October 3.

He is still hampered by bone bruising which ended his autumn campaign.

"He looks magnificent and is moving better when trotting and cantering than he ever has, but is not letting down [in his track gallops]," Bjorn Baker, his co-trainer, said.

Baker said a Caulfield and Melbourne cups campaign had not been ruled out.

"We will give him a bit more time and get him rescanned next week and see exactly where we are with him."

Don't Say Clang remains on target for the Merial Metric Mile despite a setback with a stone bruise.

"He has missed a couple of days work with a slight stone bruise but it is a couple of weeks before his next race," Terri Rae, his Riccarton trainer, said.

Jamie Bullard will have the mount in the $70,000 Merial Mile at Awapuni on September 12.

Mark Du Plessis rode Don't Say Clang to win the Winter Classsic (2000m) at the Grand National meeting when Bullard was under suspension.

Saint Zede, winner of three races for Rae last season, is due to resume at Oamaru tomorrow.

The St Petersburg gelding won at Oamaru in March.

Jason Laking has the mount, with Bullard on stablemate Duch.
