Adore Me, an impressive winner at Addington on Friday night when having her first start, has the heat of the Sires' Stakes for 3yr-old fillies on her programme at Forbury Park next Sunday.
Adore Me is trained by Mark Purdon for breeder Charlie Roberts, Paul and Mary Kenny, all of Auckland.
The daughter of Bettor's Delight is the 10th winner from as many foals to race out of Scuse Me, who was represented by the winner Idolise Me (by American Ideal) at Alexandra Park on Friday night. Scuse Me is also the dam of Megabucks (1.49.6), Imagine Me (nine wins) and Toledo (seven).
Scuse Me (B G's Bunny-Super Smooth) won eight races and her 1.53.5 in the Noel Taylor Mile at Alexandra Park in 1998 was a New Zealand record. She was trained by Purdon for Jim Dalgety and Vicki Purdon.
Scuse Me was sold to the United States and Roberts bought her back.
Roberts and Vicki Purdon race Christen Me from the Cran Dalgety stable, Christen Me won fresh up at Addington on Friday night, his fifth win in seven starts. Christen Me is by Christian Cullen out of Splendid Dreams, a daughter of Dream Away and Scuse Me. Christen Me is a brother to Hands Christian (13 wins).
• The broodmare Sheezadoosie was also represented by winners at Alexandra Park and Addington on Friday night.
Sheezadoosie is the dam of I Can Doosit and Sno's Big Boy, both by Muscles Yankee.
I Can Doosit won the Canterbury Park Trotting Cup in 3.17.1, 0.4sec outside the NZ record for a trotter over 2600m set by Dr Hook at Addington in September last year.
• Royal Courage continued winning form at Washdyke yesterday when having his 127th start.
It was his second win in six starts since the 8yr-old was transferred to Gavin Cook at Ladbrooks for amateur drivers races. Cook has driven Royal Courage in his two wins.
Royal Courage is raced by Roxburgh trainers Geoff and Jude Knight, Colleen Negus, of Waikouaiti and Joan Braam, of Dunedin. Braam claimed Royal Courage for $3000 at Forbury Park in June last year and the gelding was transferred to the Knight stable for whom he won the following month.
Royal Courage won five races when trained by Bruce Negus, husband of the part-owner.
The Knights train Her Worship, who recorded her second win from three starts when successful at Winton yesterday.
Ted West ran the fastest mile on the Winton programme of 1.55.6. He was having his first race for four months and advanced his record to five wins from six starts.
• Auckland Reactor is back on the unruly list for standing start races. Trainer Purdon had his application approved after Auckland Reactor tangled at the start and finished eighth in the Canterbury Classic at Addington on Friday night. Auckland Reactor has missed away in his two starts this season.
Auckland Reactor started from the unruly position last season when he won the New Brighton Cup and Ashburton Flying Stakes, two of his first three starts.
Auckland Reactor sustained a laceration to his right front coronet on Friday night and Purdon said he would know more about the injury in a few days.
• Shane Walkinshaw was fined $250 at Winton for driving Canardly Lover in a manner likely to cause interference.
Canardly Lover tangled and lost ground at the 700m when pushed wide.
Alan Clark and Andrew Armour were each fined $225 for careless driving. Clark, driving Sunnivue Impulse, was found to have shifted out at the 600m, causing a check to Mum Beat Lyall.
Armour admitted shifting in at the first bend when driving Kaylea Bolter, causing Ali Foyle to tangle.
