The 5yr-old son of Pegasus Spur had 18 months off racing after he had issues with a hind suspensory ligament.
Anderson and co-trainer Amber Hoffman acquired the winner of two races from Tim Butt several months ago and he is set for his first start in the Anderson-Hoffman colours at Winton tomorrow.
''When he turned up, he was a bit of a loony, but Amber rode him for a bit,'' Anderson said.
''We've always been aware of how good he is. We've just given him long, slow miles [in work] and lots of swimming.''
The second foal of One Under Kenny has plenty of high speed, which means Anderson has gone fairly light on his workload.
''He's probably about 85% ready, realistically. Racing will get him ready.''
King Kenny's trial at Roxburgh last week has tuned him up nicely for tomorrow's assignment, and Anderson has no qualms naming him as the one to beat.
''He's too good for them, but everything else has got to map out.''
King Kenny's opposition in age-grade racing included the now-defunct Paramount Geegee, and Jewels winner Kylie Ree, and he was competitive with placings in the group 2 Sires Stakes championship and the sales series final.
Anderson is also pleased with Live A Star, who debuts in a 3yr-old fillies' mile after qualifying at Balfour earlier this month.
''She's got a chance. She's got some gate speed and it's a nice race for her to debut in.''
Donostia (race 7) has the ace draw of one, and Anderson is looking for a soft run.
''She should jump out and get a trail behind Beaudiene Maja Babe without having to do too much,'' he said.
