Racing: Raglan wins at Rangiora trials ahead of Invercargill Cup

Raglan showed he was on track for a resumption in the Invercargill Cup on Saturday week when he easily won a trial at Rangiora yesterday.

Raglan started from 30m and won the 2600m heat by nine and a-half lengths.

The last 800m was run in 55.8, the final 400m in 27.9 in rain.

Raglan was found to have contracted a virus after he last raced on November 12.

My Mei carried on from his impressive qualifying effort a week ago when he won a maiden heat yesterday by three and a-quarter lengths in the hands of co-trainer David Butt.

He ran the last 800m in 57.2, the final 400m in 28.8Butt also won yesterday with Ohoka Texas, who ran his final 800m in 56.3, the last 400m in 28.2, to win the one-win 2000m (mobile) in 2.30.6 (a 2.01.1 mile rate).

The Christian Cullen 3yr-old has won two of his three starts and finished second in the other.

He has been freshened since he won at Motukarara on November 28.
