The nine-race card attracted 106 horses, up 42% on last year.
The day was upgraded to a feature meeting, swapping with the club's meeting at Cromwell in March, and the larger stakes attracted more horses.
That meant higher turnover both on-course and off-course. On-course turnover was $227,000, up 30% on last year, and off-course turnover was up $325,000 on last year's turnover.
Otago Racing Club chief executive Andre Klein said the meeting was the ninth-biggest in New Zealand this year, with Melbourne Cup day at Wingatui 10th.
''It is the biggest Sunday race meeting in the country so far this season, more than twice as big as its nearest rival.
