Showmaker credited her sire, Kingmaker, with his first winner when she was successful at Wingatui yesterday.

Kingmaker (Last Tycoon-Courtza) is a brother to O'Reilly, a successful racehorse and sire. Kingmaker stands at Amberley. Showmaker, a 4yr-old mare, was having her third start.

She is out of Bon Show, a King's Gambit mare tracing to Minglow, the dam of champion mare Show Gate. Showmaker is trained at Ashburton by Daniel Champion who races her with Chertsey breeders, Geoff Laird and Jane Matthews.

Laird and Matthews have Ketchiben in the Champion stable.

Ketchiben ran second fresh-up to Coup Align at Riccarton 10 days ago. He has been set for a 1200m race at Wingatui on Boxing Day.

Wingatui trainers Brian and Shane Anderton won three of the six races yesterday with Turn The Page, Dark Suspect and Upcloseandpersonal.

The stable apprentice, Jay Misbah, rode Dark Suspect and Upcloseandpersonal.

Turn The Page, who had not raced for six months, was ridden by Dan Subramaniam. He returned to Wingatui from Malaysia a month ago.

"Dark Suspect had crook feet when we got him last season. He is right after a spell," Shane Anderton said.

The stable also had minor placings with Second Audition, Beata, The Cover Drive, Halo Cloud and Ruby's Gem yesterday. Ruby's Gem, who finished second, has been served by Gallant Guru.

Steve Anderton won with Ben Prevails, who was having his third start.

Ben Prevails is a 4yr-old by Justice Prevails from Random Girl, a half-sister by Random Chance to Lydgina, winner of eight races including a Waikouaiti Cup when trained by Anderton.

Ben Prevails is raced by Tarras breeder Colin Clark.
