Otago crews progress

Otago fans will have plenty of boats to support when the semifinals and finals begin at the national championships at Lake Karapiro today.

Four Otago crews progressed to the semifinals of the women's club double sculls. Both Dunstan crews got through their repechage and the University of Otago pair won their repechage to secure their spot.

North End joined the party as well.

Dunstan's women's novice coxed quadruple won its repechage to gain spot in the final, while the Otago University men's senior coxless quadruple also won its repechage and is into the final.

In the women's senior singles North End's Emma Wallace and University's Riley Homan booked a semifinal with good rows.

University men's novice double sculls crew of Lucas Hinton and Teddy Rose are safely through to the final, while Oamaru's Brady McNeill and Jack Smith are into the final of the men's club coxless pairs with a third placing in their repechage.

Dunstan's Simon Smith won his repechage in the men's senior single sculls and is into the semis, while Logan Docherty is into the semis in the men's club single sculls.

Dunstan Arm Rowing Club enjoyed more success with its women's novice coxed four and women's coxless quad sculls getting through to the final.

North End crew of Scott Bezett and Todd Bezett won their repechage to secure a final's berth in the men's senior coxless pair oars, while fellow club member Leah Anderson is into the semis of the women's club singles.
