Three Otago rowers have been named in the South Island under-18 team.
Columba College pupils Abby Anderson and Callie Turner will compete in the girls eight, while Taieri College's Haylee Budd is in the girls quadruple sculls.
Dunedin coaches Natalie Matheson, of Columba, and Lauren Farnden, of North End, will coach the eight and quadruple sculls respectively.
Anderson and Turner were both part of Columba under-17 crews which won bronze in the coxed four and eight at the recent Maadi Cup.
They also were part of the crew which finished fourth in the under-18 coxed four.
Anderson added a silver in the under-16 coxed four.
Budd finished fourth in the under-17 single sculls, less than 0.2sec off a medal.
The crews will race against the North Island in the North versus South junior regatta at Lake Karapiro today and tomorrow.
Twenty-eight rowers were chosen for the South Island team, the majority coming from Christchurch.
