Dunedin premier rugby - top six sorted

University has limped into the top six playoffs despite a 31-24 loss to Harbour at Watson Park today.

It was in a tussle with Green Island for the final playoffs berth, but neither side could manage a win in the final round.

The Grizzles were rolled 24-19 by Zingari-Richmond at Montecillo.

Zingari-Richmond fullback Shaun Driver played his 100th game for the side and shone, knocking over four penalities and a conversion.

Taieri, who had the bye this week, will host University in the playoffs.

Dunedin edged Southern 36-32 at Kettle Park and will have to do it all again next weekend.

It will host the Magpies in the second playoff game, while Harbour's win secured it home advantage against Kaikorai, who dispatched Alhambra-Union 52-20 at Bishopscourt today.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
