Rugby: Rampant Southern rout Zingari

Southern went on the rampage to score 10 tries to beat Zingari-Richmond 64-0 at Bathgate Park.

Flying wing Greg Zampach and first five-eighth Julius Glasson both scored two tries and Tony Fenner, who came on in the second spell, kicked five conversions.

Southern led 29-0 at the break after scoring five tries and added another five in the second spell.

Southern locks Tom Franklin and Sam Gibson dominated the lineout and prop Kees Meeuws was in control as Zingari-Richmond was pushed back in the scrums.

Two tries started close to their own goal line and demonstrated the support play of the Southern team.

Halfback Josh Walden initiated one when he broke clear and unloaded to powerful No 8 Andrew Stead who pushed off two defenders before wing Harry Uffindell sprinted away for the try.

Uffindell was dangerous with the ball in hand. Joe Hill probed gaps in the midfield.
