Otago Boys' High School came back strongly in the second spell to beat Christ's College 19-16 in a tight inter-school game at Littlebourne.
It was the feature game of the Otago Boys' High School 150th reunion and a large crowd of Old Boys cheered on the home team as they came back into the game in the second spell.
Christ's College played with the strong north-easterly wind at its back in the first spell and led 16-3 at the break.
The dominant player for Christ's College was first five-eighth Damian McKenzie who scored all their points with a brilliant 35m angled run down the short side for the sides only try.
He also landed three penalty goals and a conversion to score all 16 points.
The Otago Boys' forwards took charge in the second spell and got a sniff of a win when prop Jonah Aoina scored six minutes in the second spell to reduce the gap to six points.
The extra points were added by Sio Tomkinson who kicked four penalty goals and a conversion.
In the Highlanders First XV competition Brad Thomson kicked four penalty goals when Kings beat Dunstan 15-12.
In other games Southland Boys' beat John McGlashan 50-0 and Waitaki Boys' beat South Otago 32-25.
In the bottom section of the competition St Kevin's and Gore drew 13-all, James Hargest beat Verdon College 12-10 and St Peters beat Mount Aspiring College 33-15.
