Pirates will go into the final as hot favourites after beating Kaikorai 71-10 in the Dunedin women's rugby competition semi-finals yesterday.
Pirates scored 13 tries with No 8 Angie Sisisa, Wong Jamie Greene and centre Greer Muir each scoring two.
University gained an upset 23-8 win over Alhambra-Union in the other semi-final.
Centre Choloe Trubshoe was in dynamic form and scored three of the students tries.
It was an impressive win by University agaianst a side that had won the banner for the last four years.
The two teams meet in the final next Saturday.
