The Daniels sisters, Lisa and Nina, have adopted a new role as producers of a Christmas water show at Moana Pool later this month.
The pair retired from competitive synchronised swimming after the Beijing Olympic Games last year and have become coaches at the newly formed Aquagold Swimming Club.
They dominated New Zealand synchronised swimming for nearly a decade since first winning the national championship duet title together in 2000.
The highlight of their career was to win a bronze medal at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006.
The sisters are now putting a lot back into the sport and have adopted ideas from their training experience in Canada.
The Christmas Show, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is an example of this.
"The clubs in Canada put on a water show each year to raise funds," Lisa Daniels said.
The 16 members of the Aquagold club will become actors for the show on November 21.
Included are sisters Momoka and Rika Matsubara-Park, who won a bronze medal in the duet at the New Zealand championships at Wellington in September.
The 10 swimmers who won a bronze medal in the free routine will also be in the show.
