An e-scooter rider has died in hospital following a crash in central Christchurch at the weekend.
Police this afternoon said they were called to Antigua St near the Burke St intersection about 12.10am on Sunday.
"The scooter rider received serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
"Sadly, despite best efforts from medical professionals, the man died in hospital."
Police said they did not believe another vehicle was involved, but inquiries were ongoing.
They wanted to speak with anyone in the area at the time of the crash, or who had CCTV footage from the area.
They said the man was wearing a light-coloured jacket over a New Zealand Warriors top, blue jeans, and sneakers.
"Police ask anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage in the area to please review their footage, and if you see anything that may assist our inquiries, please contact us."
