Police investigate suspicious car fire in Linwood driveway

A car fire down a driveway in Christchurch this morning is being treated as suspicious.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said a crew from Christchurch city station was called to the blaze on Armagh St, near Trent St, in Linwood about 6am to find a car "fully involved" in flames.

The spokesman said the fire is being treated as suspicious and police are investigating.

No surrounding property was damaged.

It comes after a suspicious car fire in Burwood on Monday last week, and the arrest of a 21-year-old man in relation to three suspicious fires on the same day at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Parklands, the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral (Cardboard Cathedral) on Hereford St and the Beach Cafe and Wine Bar in New Brighton.
