Firefighters were called to a second suspicious blaze in less than a week at a Christchurch forest park on Friday.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Andrew Norris said a crew took about 20min to put out a scrub near Aston Drive in Bottle Lake Forest Park about 10.50am.

Mr Norris said police were at the scene and the blaze is being treated as suspicious. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

It comes after another blaze at the forest on Wednesday, which took 10 fire crews and a helicopter to put out. Two youths were spoken to by police in relation to the suspicious fire.
