Police are still searching for three suspects after a gun was used in a home invasion just north of Christchurch on Thursday.
The weapon was presented to allegedly threaten the victim during the attempted robbery at a home in Brooklands.
Police were called to a Charon St property in the small settlement just before noon.
A number of scrap metal items were stolen from the home during the robbery.
A police spokesman said the matter was being taken "extremely seriously" and police are working to locate the three suspects.
The victim who was threatened was uninjured and did not require ambulance assistance.
Anyone with information that may assist police in their investigation is encouraged to call 105, a police spokesman said.
