Motorists using the Rakaia River bridge should expect delays after a truck broke down this morning.
Police were notified about the breakdown on State Highway 1 at 5.55am. The truck was removed from the bridge about 7.40am.
The truck was blocking the southbound lane but it has now been cleared.
NZTA warned motorists to “take extra care along this route and to expect some delays”.
