A Canterbury school is attempting to fill a trailer load of donated goods to give to the Christchurch City Mission.

Lincoln High School is asking not only students to help with their mission but the wider community as well.

Donations from students were collected on Wednesday and a drop-off point will be set up at Lincoln New World on Saturday.

The initiative is being led by the year 11 social studies class with help from the school's services council.

The idea came from the increased demand food banks around the country are reporting since Covid-19.

As well as the usual cans and non-perishable food items, the school is also asking for donations of food for full meals.
