Dunedin’s ground-breaking Amped Music Project is set to showcase the talents of 25 groups of young creatives in a series of all-ages gigs from this weekend.

Led by musician, music teacher and producer Craig Monk, and band manager, promoter and label owner Natasha Griffiths, Amped comprises workshops, all-ages gigs and recording opportunities that connect young musicians with Dunedin’s music and creative scenes.

Now it’s time for the young musicians to showcase what they have learned through four multi-performer shows, running from 1pm-5pm this Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24, and on September 6 and 7. The first three shows will be held at Te Whare o Rukutia and the fourth at Pearl Diver.

Each show will feature a mix of well-established musicians and others playing their first or second gig.

The first show this Saturday will feature Seek Help!, Spiderdick, Angel’s Mischief, Oceans for Backyards, Talking Furniture, and Smosh, with special guests Pearly.

Sunday’s lineup will feature The Late News, Lucy & Annamika, Dead Men Float, Blue Goldfish, SOGG, and Motheaten, with special guest Cecil Turbine.

The show on Saturday, September 6, will feature Deaf Raccoon, Livvii Winter, Eris, Zabloink, Grace Gemmell, and Ruckus, with special guests Te Kahui and The Gathering.

The show on Sunday, September 7, will feature Flush Median, Noelle Hill, Vanundy, Possum & Friends, Eri, and Crash, with special guest U-No Juno.
