The joyful sounds of French, Spanish, Mandarin, te reo Māori and more will be heard at Dunedin’s inaugural Cafe Babel next week.
Organised by Logan Park High School French teacher Heike Cebulla-Elder, the Dunedin Cafe Babel event will be held on Wednesday, 4pm-5pm, at Yours in Moray Pl.
Ms Cebulla-Elder said the event would be a chance for native speakers and learners of other languages to come together and enjoy a language exchange.
Speakers will gather around tables, each table focusing on one language spoken by the native speakers who come along.
The event will also include activities and games to allow languages to be practised in an authentic way.
The Dunedin Cafe Babel is planned to be held every second Wednesday of each month.
