School Holidays at Otago Museum!

We know school holidays are a super busy time for some of us, so here's your super speedy guide to what's on for the first week of the holidays at Otago Museum - for more info just click the links below.

After a school holiday programme? Check out the awesome Explorers' Club. Sign up for one session or 10 - the choice is yours. If you're in the Waitaki region, take a look at DSquad Out and About - it's like a mini Explorers Club for one day only at the Forrester Gallery!

Want to check out Tūhura Otago Community Trust Science Centre? It's open every day from 10am–5pm, and we've got some family packages available so you can bring the whole clan with you - and remember to grab your tickets from the Museum Shop on your way up.

Keen on the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium? We've just launched a new film, We Are Aliens! 3D, so it's the perfect time to head down. Just remember that we can't have under-3s in the planetarium, and to get the best deal, package your film with a pass to Tūhura and make a whole day of it!

Planning on attending one of our free events? There's a tonne on offer, from science shows to crafts to gallery trails - for a full list visit our what's on page.

The thought of parking doing your head in? We're running the Museum Loop Bus again! It departs the Botanic Garden on the hour every weekday, and it's totally free! Park once and hop on and off all day, with stops at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum, Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Otago Museum and the Botanic Garden.

Or, just wing it and see what's on when you get here! Our staff are more than happy to give you a rundown of what's on each day, just stop by the Info Desk.

FIND

This week in our est. 1868 blog series we're looking at what this little critter has to do with the production of the world's most expensive coffee, to celebrate World Coffee Day! Cheers!

I don’t need a special day to enjoy my coffee. But I will not drink the most expensive coffee in the world – kopi luwak. Aside from its ridiculously high price, it is the method of production that revolts me. The coffee is also known as cat poo coffee.
