The teenage wife of Sydney terror suspect Sameh Bayda has an infatuation with violence and once said she could watch beheadings all day, a court has heard.
Alo-Bridget Namoa, 19, faced a sentence hearing in Sydney for refusing to answer questions from the NSW Crime Commission about alleged planned terror acts.
Highlighting the seriousness of the case, prosecutor Matt Karpin referred to a psychiatrist's report from June that noted Namoa had spoken of her enjoyment of watching beheadings.
"I can watch it all day," Namoa was reported as having told the psychiatrist, according to Mr Karpin.
Asked why, she replied "I don't know", and added "I like it" but clarified "I could never do that to anyone", Mr Karpin said.
Namoa's lawyer Sophie Toomey said the teenager was psychotic at the time of the report and has since been taking medication.
But Mr Karpin also referred to statements Namoa made to the crime commission in February - including confirmation that she supported Islamic State - and that she was allegedly found with violent material showing executions of citizens.
He said all the evidence shows Namoa has an "infatuation with violence".
But Ms Toomey said Namoa had refused to answer the commission's questions out of loyalty to her husband, not some sinister motive.
"This was a young woman who in her mind was protecting the man she married and loved," she told the court.
Magistrate Beverley Schurr adjourned her decision on sentence until October 6.
Namoa appeared by video link from Silverwater Women's Correctional Centre wearing a black headscarf covering her hair and neck.
She remained mostly silent during the hearing.
The teenager is also facing separate charges of possessing a hunting knife and documents in connection with a terrorist act.
