An aerobics competition in Dunedin had a “really cool atmosphere” and was “a lot of fun”, the organiser says. More than 350 competitors, from primary schoolers to over 30-year-olds, performed at the New Zealand Competitive Aerobics Federation (NZCAF) Otago Regional Competition at Trinity Catholic College over the weekend. Photo: Peter McIntosh Otago was the biggest region in the country for aerobics, Miss Snoep said and the calibre of athletes was really strong. Seven-hundred spectators came to watch, including parents of young first-time competitors. Athletes were competing for a spot in the national competition, which would be held in Dunedin next month. There, competitors had a chance to be selected for the world competition, which after ten years of campaigning for it to be held in New Zealand, would take place in Invercargill. felicity.dear@odt.co.nz
