Construction of the new Dunedin hospital inpatient building takes a big step forward as the first foundation piles are driven on the site yesterday.
A Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand spokeswoman said the casings would be driven to about 30m-40m deep and filled with concrete.

Piling would be completed in the third quarter of 2024, and the building was due to open in 2029.
