Eagles frontman Don Henley has his eye on New Zealand.

The 71-year-old rock star will be winging his way here with the rest of the band early next year for concerts in Auckland and Dunedin.

But, in an interview with Dunedin music writer Tony Nielsen, for the Otago Daily Times, the Eagles founding member said he was looking forward to getting back to New Zealand.

''We all love New Zealand. Of course, I toured recently with my solo show, with Jewel.

''It's always a treat to go to New Zealand. I've actually been thinking about property down there.

''One of my bucket list dreams is to hike the Milford Track. I've looked at it on the web.

''Some day I'm going to get around to it.''

The full story will be published in Saturday's Weekend Mix.
