A pair of jet skis stolen from a South Dunedin home last week have been returned to their owner.
Bruce Chilcott made an appeal to the public for information last Thursday after someone took the jet skis from outside the 71-year-old's Cutten St home.
The skis were located the next day by a member of the public who recognised them from a photo printed in the Otago Daily Times.
They were found under a tarpaulin just off Brighton-Scroggs Hill Rd.
Mr Chilcott got his skis back yesterday and said he was grateful to everyone who had helped with their return.
No-one had been charged in relation to the incident yesterday.
Detective Sergeant Rob Hanna said a man and a woman had been seen putting the tarpaulin over the skis.
They were described as Caucasian, in their late teens or early 20s and driving a dark blue car like a Mazda 323 or similar.
The woman had long, dark, straight hair.
There were also several sightings of the jet skis being towed in the South Dunedin and St Clair area between 6am and 7am last Thursday.
He urged anyone who saw the jet skis being towed, or had any other information, to contact police.
