Queen Elizabeth is coming to Dunedin - and she is bringing more than 2000 guests with her.

The 90,000-ton cruise ship is scheduled to visit Dunedin on February 23, 2012, as part of its second around-the-world voyage.

Capable of carrying 2000 passengers, the vessel features a traditional British pub, a Harrods store, a 92.9sq m ballroom, theatre, and a games deck which will include croquet, paddle tennis and bowls. The 294m-long ship has 12 guest decks.

The Art Deco-themed vessel is expected to be completed at its Italian shipyard in October.

The ship will be the second-largest Cunard Line ship built, after the Queen Mary, and is a sister ship to the Queen Victoria.

The vessel will depart its home port of Southampton on October 12, and follow the same journey as its predecessor, Queen Elizabeth II, which was taken out of service in 2008.
