Unlicenced teen's drive to ease exam stress ends in crash

A Dunedin student’s attempt to clear her head from exam stress ended with her crashing into a line of parked cars.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said the 16-year-old girl had taken herself for a drive along Forbury Rd at 10.20pm last night to ease exam stress.

"Problem is she doesn't hold a driver's licence, as a result, we've had some complaints about her erratic driving," Snr Sgnt Bond said.

While travelling along Forbury Rd, the girl looked down at her feet — presumably to orientate her feet with the pedals, Snr Sgnt Bond said — and crashed into a parked vehicle, which shunted forward into two more vehicles.

Police were called — the girl received no injuries but was forbidden from driving.
