The murder trial of Clayton Weatherston was adjourned yesterday after one of the jurors was taken to hospital.
The man became unwell during the court's morning adjournment.
He was checked by a doctor and ambulance staff, and he was taken to hospital by ambulance soon after noon.
Justice Judith Potter sent the other 11 jurors away until 10am today.
She said she expected to receive a report from the hospital once doctors had assessed the man's condition.
Once that happened, she would discuss the matter with counsel and decide what course to take.
The court was adjourned and Justice Potter asked the jurors to come back this morning.
Weatherston (33) denies murdering 22-year-old Sophie Elliott on January 9 last year.
The trial could continue with 11 jurors.
