Abduction accused lose name suppression

Name suppression has been lifted for a man and woman who are believed to have been with 18-year old Jovaan Graham, who was found dead outside Pohlen Hospital in Matamata early on Wednesday morning.

A car struck the Tauranga teen on the Kaimai Range and the vehicle's driver was allegedly abducted and assaulted but managed to escape and raise the alarm.

Thomas McDonald, 30, and Cheyanne McCausland, 23, appeared in Tauranga District Court today charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, injuring with intent and the unlawful use of a vehicle.

No bail application has been made and they were remanded in custody by Judge Peter Stiller.

The two are due to reappear on April 16.
