A man accused of stabbing two Hastings brothers on Sunday is due in court after being caught in the suburb of Flaxmere last night.
A manhunt was launched for Jerome Chase, 42, after he allegedly attacked the two men who lived on his Flaxmere street, Deal Crescent, about 7.30pm.
One was stabbed in the torso and the other in the arm, while a neighbour's dog which got involved in the incident ended up being fatally stabbed.
Senior Sergeant Ross Smith from Hastings police said the arrest was made without incident last night.
Chase was due to appear this afternoon in Hastings District Court to face two charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
One of the stabbed men was left with serious injuries, while the other was less seriously injured. Both were taken to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital for treatment.
