An elderly woman is dead after smashing her car into a power pole in the Wellington suburb of Miramar this afternoon.
The woman, aged in her 80s, was the only person involved in the 5.30pm Devonshire Road crash, police central communications Inspector Marty Parker told NZPA.
He said police had yet to work out what caused the crash.
