An 18-year-old man has appeared in court following the death of a man in Upper Hutt overnight.
The 50-year-old man, whose name was expected to be released tomorrow, died after a domestic dispute in Trentham, police said.
His alleged attacker appeared on a charge of assault in Upper Hutt District Court this afternoon.
The man, whose name was suppressed, was remanded on bail to reappear this month.
A scene examination was expected to be completed this afternoon, police said.
No other person was being sought in relation to the death.
