Police have named a man found dead in a Timaru street last week.
Shane William Braddick, 28, was found lying face-down in Seaview about 3.50am on Friday.
Timaru man Johnny Grant Holman, 25, appeared for a second time in Timaru District Court this morning on a charge of murder.
He entered no plea and was remanded in custody.
South Canterbury area commander Inspector Dave Gaskin said police investigating the death were not seeking a weapon.
He would not comment on whether the two men were known to each other but confirmed they were not related.
