One person has died following a crash involving a motorbike near Sefton, Canterbury.
A second person was seriously injured and has been transported to Christchurch Hospital.
Earlier today, emergency services responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 near Amesbury Road.
The crash was reported around 3.15pm and the Serious Crash Unit was advised.
The road is still closed and diversions are in place at Harleston Rd southbound and Wyllies Rd northbound.
"Our thoughts and sympathies are with their family at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.
