An overseas visitor who died after being hit by a bus in Auckland this morning has been named by police.
She was Jeanine Bennett, 76, who was due to return home to Tahiti at the weekend.
Ms Bennett was crossing Great South Road in Epsom where she was staying in a motel with family when she was hit about 8.45am, police said.
Police said they wanted to hear from any of the bus passengers and a doctor who was at the scene immediately after the collision.
The bus -- Waka Pacific number 471 -- was bound for downtown Auckland.
