A Qantas passenger jet was grounded at Christchurch Airport yesterday after being hit by severe turbulence on a flight from Sydney.
The Boeing 767-300's return flight to Sydney in the afternoon was cancelled and passengers were moved to other flights.
A Qantas spokeswoman said engineers "weren't satisfied that the damage to the aircraft was insignificant".
