Five Auckland prison inmates appeared in court today charged with the murder of fellow inmate, Tue Faavae.
The men, who were given interim name suppression were remanded in custody to reappear in the North Shore District Court on April 20.
A sixth man, who also has interim name suppression, faced a charge of being an accessory after the fact to murder.
All men were charged after a month-long investigation at Auckland Prison at Paremoremo.
The charge follows the death of Faavae, 23, a Samoan-born inmate whose body was found inside East Wing cell block in the prison on March 1.
