The Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) searched a house in Hamilton this morning after an overnight stabbing left three people injured, one seriously.
It seemed that two groups of men fought with each other around the Bader St shops in south Hamilton. Three people from one group, males aged 13, 17 and 22, were stabbed, Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said.
Police officers and the Waikato AOS searched a Melville house this morning and are speaking to one man who is helping with inquiries.
Mr Thornton said the incident was being treated seriously by police and anyone with information needed to come forward.
The three men were taken to Waikato Hospital. Two have since discharged themselves while the third is in a serious but stable condition after surgery.
