A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of 23-year-old John Patrick Chambers, who was stabbed to death in an Auckland boarding house yesterday morning.
Mr Chambers was found lying on a bloodied floor in a hallway in Eden Park Lodge, a boarding house, at Onslow Road about 3.30am and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 30-year-old Mt Eden man will appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with murder.
A 33-year-old Snells Beach woman has been charged with being an accessory after the fact for assisting the man avoid arrest and will also appear in court.
Police yesterday said a man was seen running from the address and they warned anyone who helped him to hide would face arrest.
