Two workers are in Tauranga Hospital after an explosion at a firewood processing plant in Mt Maunganui this morning.
The explosion was believed to be in or near a kiln at the plant in Hocking Rd. Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a pile of sawdust.
Police said the two injured men were treated by ambulance officers and then taken to hospital. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
