The Civil Aviation Authority will be taking no action after two people were injured in a hot air balloon crash in Methven last week.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said a crew from the Methven station was called to the scene near the domain just before 8.30am on Friday.
"A hot air balloon had crashed and had come down onto the road," a Fenz spokesperson said.
The balloon came down near Churchill Rd.
"There was some injuries for a couple of people, but very minor."
The CAA on Wednesday said it had made initial inquiries looking into factors such as safety risks and the extent of any damage.
"Based on the information we gathered, CAA determined that no further inquiries were warranted, and no further action from us will be taken."
A Facebook poster who snapped the above photo said "unfortunately the very bottom balloon deflated right as I took this picture".
Up to a dozen hot air balloons took off at the township this morning ahead of Methven's Fire & Ice Hot Air Balloon Glow and Laser Festival this weekend.
Fenz said they were now cleaning up the debris from the balloon and the trees.
Hato Hone St John responded with a Fir st Response Unit and PRIME responder.
Two people were assessed at the scene. One person was transported to a local medical centre in a minor condition, St John said.
People were being urged to avoid the area as road diversions were in place.
The hot air balloons are in Methven for the festival on Sunday.
