Jarrod Kingi, 44, was last seen on Friday, April 25 about 11.15pm, where he left a property in Tobie Pl in Whangamatā.
Sergeant Will Hamilton said a search around the area was conducted yesterday with the help of the Whangamatā Surf Life Saving Club.
"Today, police will be using a vessel to continue to search for Jarrod in the Whangamatā Harbour area."
Vessels have been encouraged to keep watch for any items of interest.
Owners have also been asked to check inside their vessels, as well as any snag points surrounding them.
"We continue to appeal for information from the public, especially those who frequent the beaches or live close to the water," Hamilton said.
"We continue to be in contact with Jarrod's family, and support is being provided to them at what is an understandably difficult time."
