A wide draw may not deter Beautiful Girl in the Concorde Handicap at Ellerslie tomorrow.
Beautiful Girl was unlucky when resuming at Te Rapa on November 6. She was held up and finished fast for sixth.
Beautiful Girl has gained four of her seven wins at Ellerslie. She won the group three Darley Plate (1200m) in March. She was trained for that win by Leanne Franklin. The Black Minnaloushe mare is now with Yves Seguin at Cambridge.
Vincent Mangano would only need to reproduce his form from the New Zealand Cup meeting to be hard to beat. He came from last to win the Pegasus Handicap (1000m) on the first day and he was running on well for fourth in the Stewards' Handicap (1200m) four days later.
Sam Spratt who rode him, is under suspension, and Craig Grylls has the mount.
