Students of Hāwea Flat school got into character to celebrate Book Week yesterday. The school’s students will be on the receiving end of donations this year thanks to a book registry open to the public. The fundraising group behind the registry are passionate readers who all participate in the voluntary Grans Reading Programme at the school. Member Sheryl Starky said they also would love to see a little less screen time and more book reading in the lives of our young children.
