Alleged thief makes off with trolley-load

A woman who allegedly strolled out of the Oamaru branch of The Warehouse wheeling a trolley-load of stolen goods on Sunday is being sought by police.

The bold theft took place shortly after 3pm.

A police spokeswoman said the woman, described as having dark hair and wearing a white hoodie and white cap, entered the Eden St store alone and left with a trolley piled with two large televisions and two suitcases filled with various items.

The woman left in a silver Holden Commodore with two men who were in the waiting vehicle, registration number WF6614.

The numberplates had earlier been reported stolen, the spokeswoman said.

Police were analysing CCTV footage in an effort to identify the woman.
