Oamaru police are appealing for help from the public after an Oamaru couple were threatened at their home by three people, one carrying a baseball bat.
Police said the couple were shaken by the Wednesday night incident.
Detective Sergeant Mike Ryder said a man and a woman in the Exe St house were confronted at their front door by two young men and a woman.
The couple were threatened, glass in the front door was broken and the three then left with a small amount of money, he said.
The trio then ran off towards Humber St.
"The occupants of the house, while not injured, were shaken by what happened."
Police would like to speak to anyone in the seaward end of Exe St, or in Humber St, on Wednesday between 8pm and 8.30pm, Det Sgt Ryder said.
